Unzipping the Truth on the Lies that Sell Fast Fashion
Single-page interactive website
Developed on Webflow
Project Overview
This single-page website explores the truth behind the fast fashion industry through impactful storytelling, bold visuals, and interactive design. The site discusses the environmental, social, and ethical costs of fast fashion, using scroll-triggered interactions to reveal the industry's harmful practices.
Through educating users on the true cost of fast fashion, this project empowers them to make more informed, ethical choices. Awareness became the goal because design can make complex issues more visible and emotionally resonant. Rather than telling users what to do, the project aims to help them better understand the true cost of fast fashion so they can make more informed choices.
For the visual direction, I chose red as the dominant color because it signals warning in everyday visual language, so it frames fast fashion as an urgent issue. For typography, I referenced bold fashion branding and intentionally used a slightly challenging typeface to slow viewers down, encouraging them to reflect rather than passively consume the information.
The concept of this project is rooted in the idea that fast fashion operates by keeping its true costs out of sight. By “unzipping” the visual space, the project symbolically exposes the realities that exist beneath the surface of fast fashion consumption.
